Formal Speech on Independence Day for Teachers and Students

Good Morning all,

Today is 15th August, it is one of the most important days for Indian people. We are celebrating our 72nd independence day today. On 15th August 1947, we got freedom from British rule. They ruled over India for more than 200 years, during which they divided us and rules upon us.

India freed from British empire on 15 August 1947, after many years of slavery finally we got our own national rights. We all should feel proud on the day of this special occasion. And we should thank all our ancestors and forefathers who fought for India, worked hard and suffered from several brutal pain and behaviour of Britishers. We all are sitting here and that’s our freedom. we can’t assume how hard was the independence from British rule it took many freedom fighters lives and decades of struggle from 1857 to 15 August 1947.

We commemorate our independence from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation in 1947…Indian flag, representing India's long struggle for freedom is a national treasure. It signifies the status of India as an independent republic. Our national flag is a unifying force for our nation.

Our forefathers gave us a peaceful life and now we need to help other peoples and develop our country with great efforts. we also have to go ahead and actively participate in each and every cultural activity, sports, education, and various field so we can help India to develop a bit faster than. now we are free and we have our complete rights to do anything.

The love for our country is supreme. True love is so selfless…only we should have nations benefit in mind. This nation has given us love, care, nurturing and freedom..all of us love the fragrance of our nation…It is time we should all think of repaying something back to this nation, to the people of this beautiful country.

The nation is always before self. Please have this approach in daily life if you love this country. This is the best gift you can give to our country.

We have already learnt the hard way how we got our freedom. The price of which we had to pay by losing so many precious lives and so many patriotic Indians.

I will not tell you what is great about us. We all know it already. From the Himalayas to the southernmost point, from the seven sisters to the Elephanta caves, we are one hell of a scenic and resource-filled nation.

I will tell what is wrong with us. We become patriotic on 15th August and 26th January. That is our default mode. Or when there is an India Pakistan match or a surgical strike happens in Kashmir. Rest of the days we just suck the life out of this country through our words and actions. That is the bitter truth.
I am not asking you to go on the front and take a bullet. Just do what you are doing honestly and contribute a little to the society. Don't be patriotic on occasions only.

As Indians, our duty towards the mother country is to work for the development of India. Because the India we see today is a result of the sacrifice of many great leaders and it has their dreams in it. It is our privilege to make the country best among the nations and to work for its development.
